Exam objectives
The OSPI Certified: Proxmox VE Administrator examination assesses practical virtualization
administration on a live Proxmox VE node. Candidates create and operate virtual machines,
storage, and networking in an isolated lab environment.

1. Node access, VM lifecycle, and guest configuration (30%)
- Access the Proxmox VE environment using CLI and web UI workflows
- Create, start, stop, and clone virtual machines
- Attach ISO images, cloud-init, and guest resources as required
- Verify guest operating system readiness after provisioning

2. Storage pools, disks, and backup operations (25%)
- Identify and use configured storage pools for VM disks
- Resize or attach disks without data loss where applicable
- Schedule or run backups and confirm restorable artifacts
- Interpret storage utilization and capacity constraints

3. Virtual networking, bridges, and firewall basics (20%)
- Configure VM network interfaces on the correct bridges or VLANs
- Validate guest connectivity to required networks
- Apply basic host or guest firewall rules specified in the lab

4. Cluster awareness, troubleshooting, and recovery (25%)
- Inspect node, VM, and task status from logs and management tools
- Diagnose failed VM starts, storage, or network issues
- Recover workloads using snapshots, backups, or migration tasks
- Document operational state for support handoff
