Exam objectives

1. Installation and instance lifecycle
- Install and start PostgreSQL using distribution-appropriate methods
- Create databases, roles, and grants aligned to a scenario
- Verify connectivity and basic health checks

2. Configuration and security
- Adjust key parameters for the exam workload (memory, connections, logging as specified)
- Configure host-based authentication and least-privilege access
- Apply extensions or settings required by the blueprint

3. Backup, restore, and maintenance
- Perform logical or physical backups as directed by the tasks
- Restore data to a required point-in-time or snapshot state
- Run routine maintenance commands appropriate to the scenario

4. Monitoring and troubleshooting
- Inspect logs and catalog views to diagnose failures
- Identify blocking queries or resource pressure introduced in the lab
- Return the instance to a healthy, task-compliant state
